Amazon and American Express Credit Card

Amazon and American Express launch credit Cards to support UK businesses

Amazon is excited to announce today that we have extended our existing American Express relationship to the UK with the launch of two new business credit Cards issued by American Express.

*This is a financial promotion with American Express.

The introduction of the Amazon Business Prime American Express Card and the Amazon Business American Express Card  in the UK is the next step in Amazon’s long-term drive to support small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).

Over the last 20 years, we have helped small businesses expand. Sales from our small business selling partners have grown to account for more than half of everything sold on our site. Entrepreneurs are now able to take their products to more customers, not just here in the UK but also internationally.

The newly launched Cards will allow SMBs to alleviate some of the day-to-day stresses when it comes to balancing the books. By featuring line-item details for every purchase on Amazon Business UK, payment reconciliation is facilitated due to greater visibility on spending. The initiative follows our recently launched Amazon Small Business Accelerator program, also aimed at giving small businesses the resources and information they need to thrive in 2020 and beyond.

With the various benefits offered by the new Cards, it really is your business, your rules. When shopping on Amazon, choose from either deferred payment options to help free up cash flow, or Amazon Rewards points to support later purchases.

The key benefits of the new Cards* include:

  1.     2% Amazon Rewards points on the first £120,000 in purchases at Amazon.co.uk, Amazon Business UK and Whole Foods Market UK each calendar year, 1% thereafter or 90-day payment terms on such purchases for Cardmembers who are Business Prime members on Amazon Business UK
  2.     1.5% Amazon Rewards points on the first £120,000 in purchases at Amazon.co.uk, Amazon Business UK and Whole Foods Market UK each calendar year, 1% thereafter or 60-day payment terms on such purchases for all other Cardmembers
  3.     0.5% Amazon Rewards points on all other purchases for all Cardmembers
  4.     Businesses can use Amazon Rewards to ‘shop with points’ on Amazon - or they can use them to help cover their balance on their monthly statement
  5.     The first year’s £50 annual fee is waived for all Cardmembers who are Amazon Business Prime members

With these Cards, small- and medium-sized businesses can meet their purchasing needs, while working with brands they can trust. That's why we’ve teamed up with American Express. We’re convinced these new Cards will help SMBs navigate the post-Coronavirus economy.

*Representative APR for both Cards: 32.6% APR. Terms and conditions apply. Subject to approval, 18+. American Express Services Europe Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
